Privacy
The Hana Reads website includes book browsing, text reading, reading-preference onboarding, and account sign-in. Membership payments are processed by Stripe. Automated reading delivery and book conversations are still being prepared. Phone sign-in can send verification texts.
Your account and preferences
Account sign-in uses the same Google Firebase authentication service as the Hana Reads mobile app. Phone sign-in sends your number to Google Firebase for verification and abuse prevention. Google sends a verification code by SMS. The verified number is stored with your web reading preferences, separately from any consent to reading reminders. Your email and password go directly to Firebase; this site does not store your password. Your name, reading interests, check-in schedule, time zone, and other onboarding answers are saved in this site’s database under your verified account identifier when you continue to membership. This does not change your mobile-app profile.
Payments
Stripe receives your payment details and billing information through its hosted checkout. We store Stripe customer, checkout, and payment or subscription identifiers, your plan, payment status, renewal or access dates, and your acknowledgement that video delivery and conversations are still being prepared. We do not store card numbers or security codes. Stripe sends payment events to keep your membership up to date, including renewals, cancellations, refunds, and disputes. You can manage billing from My account.
Before you sign in
A temporary draft is kept in this browser tab so you can go back or refresh without starting again. The draft is not an account and does not send messages. Your preferences are saved to your account only after sign-in succeeds.
Your reading place
The web reader saves your current page in this browser’s local storage. It is not yet synced across devices. Public-domain text is served from Project Gutenberg through this site.
Previous early-access records
Earlier versions collected email addresses, membership interest, launch-email consent, campaign tags, and sometimes book preferences. Those records remain stored. The waitlist form has been removed.
Your choices
You can review your answers before saving them, use another account, or leave onboarding at any point. For privacy or account-deletion requests, email brian@chantir.com. Billing records may need to be retained after account deletion.
Hosting and tracking
Hosting and authentication providers process requests and may retain operational logs or use cookies and local storage for sign-in. This version has no Meta Pixel or third-party advertising tracker.
